Zara.com — Digital Production & Delivery

A high-level overview of my contribution to public-facing digital experiences on Zara.com, focused on implementation, collaboration and quality assurance.

problem

Approved creative concepts still had to become reliable, production-ready experiences within Zara.com. The challenge was preserving the original creative intent while navigating technical constraints, coordinating multiple teams and ensuring the final implementation worked correctly from staging to production.

solution

I translated approved creative concepts into production-ready Zara.com experiences, coordinating implementation with project, catalogue and development teams, and validating each release across staging and production to ensure the final experience matched the original intent.

From creative concept to production

Delivering editorial experiences across Zara.com through digital implementation, technical coordination and quality assurance.

Context

During my assignment on Zara.com through Nunegal Consulting, I contributed to the delivery of public-facing digital experiences.

My work started once that creative concept had been approved.

My responsibility was to help turn those proposals into live digital experiences within Zara.com's production environment — preserving the creative intent while navigating technical requirements, internal tools and multiple stakeholders.

The challenge

A design is not a live experience.

An approved mockup still needs to work inside a real ecommerce ecosystem.

Layouts had to be translated into Zara.com's digital environment, interactions needed to be technically feasible, development requirements had to be coordinated and every implementation needed to be validated before — and after — going live.

The challenge was therefore not to redesign the original concept.

It was to preserve its intent while making it work in production.

My role

My work focused on supporting digital implementation and quality validation as part of a collaborative delivery process

The work sat between disciplines. Decisions rarely belonged to a single team, so progress depended on keeping creative, content and technical needs aligned throughout the process.

Creative direction and visual design were developed by the corresponding creative teams and agencies. My contribution focused on translating approved concepts into production-ready digital experiences and coordinating their delivery on Zara.com.

Quality assurance

Shipping was part of the design process.

A digital experience is not finished when the layout is approved. Throughout delivery, I validated the implementation at different stages:

  1. Approved proposal - visual refrence

  2. Implementation - layout and behaviour

  3. Development - technical execution

  4. Staging - pre-production validation

  5. Production - final live QA

And when implementation differed from the expected experience, I coordinated the necessary adjustments before considering the work complete.

Outcome

From approved concept to live experience

The result was the successful delivery of multiple editorial experiences across Zara.com's Beauty and Sustainability environments, working across creative, business and technical teams from approved proposal through production.

More importantly, the role taught me that digital design at scale is rarely about a single screen.

It is about connecting intent, constraints, people and execution until the experience actually works.

What I learned

  • Design doesn't end in Figma

Understanding how an experience reaches production changed the way I think about digital design.

  • Collaboration is part of the product

Many implementation decisions emerged from conversations between business, catalogue, design and development rather than from a single discipline.

  • Quality lives in the details

Staging and production validation were essential to make sure the final experience matched what had originally been approved.
